During my martial arts career I have been fortunate to have been able to work with some of the best instructors the arts have to offer. I trained directly under Grand Master Leo Wilson in judo, yudo, karate and jujitsu and am currently training under Grand Master John Chambers in yudo, yusool and hapkido.

I have also had the opportunity to train with some of the best. Some of my training partners include Fred and Ato Hand, Bryan Olsen, Professor Danny Smith and Dewey Mitchell.

I also have been able to teach some of the best. While teaching in Decatur Alabama with Professor Millard Shelton, we produced 13 national medalists in 2 years. Several of my students have gone on to compete internationally and I now have several who enter MMA events on a regular basis.

Grand Master Beard was recently inducted into the World Head of Family Sokeship Council Hall of Fame as the Male Instructor of the Year. Black Tie ceremonies were held in Orlando, FL. Grand Master Beard was recognized by the World Sokeship Council for his contributions to the martial arts.

The World Head of Family Sokeship Council is an exclusive union of the top Grandmasters of 9th or 10th degree black belt ranking or the equivalent from around the world who wish to communicate and support one another. Membership includes some of the best martial artists in the world and at least 19 different countries are included among its’ membership.

Grand Master Beard has also been awarded an Instructor's Certificate in BladeSafe from the Seven Owl Dojo in North Carolina.
