Grandmaster Lawrence A. Beard, a martial arts pioneer of 40 years, is the inheritor and president of Martial Arts USA, America's most prestigious martial arts association.

Prior to his retirement, Grandmaster John Chambers promoted and certified Grandmaster Larry Beard to the yudo rank of 8th degree black belt. Professor Chambers is the United States Yudo Representative for the Republic Of Korea Yudo Association, and will continue his legacy as both technical and administrative advisor to Martial Arts USA.

Martial artist of the month for August

Do you know a martial artist deserving of mention on this page? If so, write a short description, enclose some pictures and send to Master Patricia Hill.

It has been brought to our attention that there is at least one other organization out there that has chosen to use the name Martial Arts USA as the name of their organization. We have contacted this organization by registered letter and the organization sent a letter from their lawyer stating that it was just a small business and couldn't hurt us in any way. What does this say about a man who would intentionally violate the laws of America?

Understand that we own the copyright to the name Martial Arts USA. Member schools have the right to use our name, but this gentleman does not hold a charter with us. Just to repeat what our founder, Professor John Chambers wrote:

Please be advised, that several martial arts schools in the U.S. are illegally using my patent / trade name of Martial Arts USA. These are clandestine / imitation schools. They are willing to forego their honor & integrity in an attempt to cash in on a reputable, established registered trade name of a leading martial arts pioneer.

Do not be fooled by these imitators.

If their web-page or business is not listed under Professor John E. Chambers, you will know they are not the real thing! If you have any doubt, contact them and ask if their president & founder is Professor John E. Chambers.
